Control Issue had a successful career debut on Friday with a half-length victory over Fabulous Florence, the $156,612 Lady Finger Stakes runner up. The Michael LeCesse-trainee completed the seventh race in a six furlong time of 1:12.34 under the direction of jockey Michael Davila, Jr. On Saturday, 2-year-old fillies will take center stage in the $50,000 Finger Lakes Juvenile Fillies.
Longshot of the Week: Musketeer rallied to win Monday’s first race at odds of 45-1 under jockey Daniel Morales. Trainer Rafael Rohena, Sr. claimed the 4-year-old gelding out of his last start when he finished seventh at a lower class level. Rohena also saddled Digital Age who won the second race completing a daily double that returned $515.00 for a $2.00 wager.
