FUNNY CIDE TO FACE SEVEN OTHER RIVALS IN WADSWORTH

FARMINGTON, N.Y. – Entries were drawn on Sunday for the $100,000 Wadsworth Memorial Handicap which is carded as the eighth race on Wednesday at Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack.

Funny Cide is listed as the 123-pound highweight for the one mile and one-eighth route for 3-year-olds and up. The 2003 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner will break from post five. Alan Garcia will be in the saddle of the 7-year-old gelding for trainer Barclay Tagg.

Johnie Bye Night will tote the second highest weight in the field and looks to be the main threat to Funny Cide. The Charlton Baker-trainee who will carry 119 pounds, has won four consecutive stakes races at Finger Lakes. John Davila, Jr. will be aboard the 5-year-old gelding who will start from post three.

Morning line odds will be set on Monday for the 31st running of the Independence Day Stake.  Below is the eight horse field in post position order for the $100,000 Wadsworth Memorial Handicap:
