FARMINGTON, N.Y. – Winning Move Stable’s Gold Like U is the morning line favorite for the $50,000 Arctic Queen Handicap which is scheduled to be run on Saturday at Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack. The 6-year-old mare is listed at the 7-5 program choice for the tenth renewal of the six furlong dash.

Gold Like U is the only stakes winner in the field of five competitors. She won the $72,000 Union Avenue Stakes at Saratoga in 2006. The ten-time winner has amassed far more purse earnings than any of her rivals with $359,403 in total career revenue. The Gary Contessa-trainee will be ridden by John Grabowski in the stake for New York-bred fillies and mares 3-years-old and up.

Miss Silver Image appears to be the biggest threat to Gold Like U, facing New York-breds for the first time in Saturday’s eighth race. The 5-year-old mare was claimed for $16,000 in her last start at Hollywood Park by owner Acclaimed Racing Stable for trainer Michael Lecesse. She had a bullet workout at Finger Lakes since changing hands, completing four furlongs in :47.80 on July 17. The probable pace setter for the feature race will be ridden by leading jockey John Davila, Jr.

The $50,000 Arctic Queen Handicap is scheduled as the eighth of Saturday’s nine race card. Gaming doors open at 10:00 a.m. and racing gates open at 11:30 a.m.
