A look back and ahead…
Mt. Majesty was an upset winner of the Lorenzo Handicap on Sunday in a final time of 1:41.74 for the one mile and seventy yard distance. The 6-year-old gelding returned quick dividends for trainer Nirka Huertas who claimed her from her previous start for $12,500. Pedro Rodriguez was aboard the 8-1 outsider who held off a late rally by highweight Tiger Speech by a neck.
Dabadabado defeated eight other rivals in his career debut to take the second 2-year-old race of the season. The Bruce Anderson-trainee had an outside stalking trip under jockey Jeremias Flores before taking command to win Sunday’s first race by one and three-quarter lengths.
Longshot of the Week: Imtakintheatrain went gate-to-wire to steal Sunday’s fourth race at odds of 16-1 under jockey Emanuel De Diego. It was the third consecutive victory for the 4-year-old gelding who won at odds of 20-1 on May 22 for trainer Edward Babcock.
