Carlow visited the winners circle for the first time in 2007 after taking the Crescent Handicap on Saturday by a head. The three time stakes winner rallied up the inside under Elaine Castillo to score the victory in the seventh race for trainer Karl Grusmark.

Tiger Speech won as the odds on favorite in the Rochester Handicap on Monday. The 126 pound highweight was hard ridden by jockey Robert Messina to earn the three-quarters of a length victory over Brocco Valley. The 5-year-old gelding, trained by Michael S. Ferraro, began his career in a $4,000 claiming race.

Jockey News/Trainer News: Jockey Omar Camejo finished the week with three victories on Tuesday. Camejo performed the hat trick in consecutive races for three different trainers. Trainer Louis Sirianni had his first win of the meet with Jet G Star in Friday’s second race. Finger Lakes jockeys will participate in a dunk tank as part of the Labor Day festivities. Money earned will benefit the Don MacBeth fund for injured and disabled riders.
