A look back and ahead…

John Grabowski earned his 80th stakes victory aboard By the Light in the $137,925 Lady Finger Stakes on Monday. With the victory, the six-time Finger Lakes leading rider moved closer to a career milestone. He is currently three away from 3,000 wins.

Talking Treasure’s eleven and one-quarter length victory in the $75,000 New York Oaks on Sunday was the largest margin of victory in the history of the stakes race. The previous top effort was performed by Angel in the Night who won the 1995 running of the route for 3-year-old New York-bred fillies by eight and one-quarter lengths.

Longshot of the Week: Majestic Heart was a surprise winner of the eighth race on Tuesday for trainer Charles Ciaio. The 4-year-old gelding rallied in the stretch to win an allowance race by a length and a half under jockey Michael Davila. He scored the upset victory as the longest shot in the eight horse field at odds of 46-1.
