Track Announcer

Tony Calo

 

Tony Calo took over as the race caller at Finger Lakes from the late Ross Morton in 2008. Tony was born in Liverpool, England and raised in Livermore, California. He began his announcing career in 1995 at Bay Meadows in San Mateo, Calif. In 1997 and 1998 he went to Arapahoe Park in Colorado while still doing publicity assistant work at Bay Meadows. In 1998 he was promoted to lead announcer at Bay Meadows. In 1999, he also became announcer at Golden Gate Fields, remaining at both tracks until 2005. His other experiences included stops at The Downs at Albuquerque and at Sun Ray Park and Turf Paradise.

 


Pan Camera Operator/Handicapper

Jon “Pan Man” Bridgman

 

Jon is a knowledgeable handicapper and his skills as a pan camera operator enhance the experience of each race for simulcast fans. The “Pan Man” also manages the infield scoreboard. He is a local product from Canandaigua, NY where he received his A.A.S. degree from Finger Lakes Community College in Humanities and Liberal Arts. Jon showed his handicapping expertise when he selected all nine winners of the Finger Lakes card on May 4, 2009.

 

 

 


Handicapper/Horse Racing Public Relations Representative

David Mattice

 

David holds a B.S. from the State University at Brockport in Physical Education with a concentration in Sport Management. He also has an A.S. degree in Liberal Arts from the State University at Canton. He was born in Catskill, NY and later moved to Ogdensburg, NY, which he regards as his hometown. He gives his selections for the day on a closed circuit morning show and also analysis from the paddock between each race. Dave works in the marketing office and is involved with public relations and simulcasting.
