On Saturday, Neverabettercity broke a track record that was held for over ten years by C.B. Account. The Daniel Conway, Jr.-trainee finished the eighth race in a time of 1:38.99 for the one mile and seventy yard distance. It was the third consecutive victory for the 3-year-old gelding who established the new mark under jockey Nazario Alvarado.

Auto City held off a late run by Mt. Majesty to win Monday’s eighth race by one-half of a length. The 7-year-old gelding, trained by Chris Englehart, has now made $272,542 in career earnings. The ten-time winner was guided to his fifth victory of the year by Finger Lakes’ leading jockey John Davila, Jr.

Longshot of the Week: J’s Luckylady caught Thrice Wicked at the wire to score an upset in Tuesday’s third race under jockey Gabriel Suarez. The victory was the first of the year for the Debra Breed-trainee who went off at odds of 38-1.

Jockey News: Elaine Castillo had two multiple win days this week to move into sixth place in the Finger Lakes jockey standings with a total of 81 victories. Michael Davila made a visit to the winners circle every racing day this week and is currently in eighth place with four days left in the 2007 meet.
