FARMINGTON, N.Y. – The final two live thoroughbred racing cards of the 2007 season at Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack scheduled for this afternoon and Tuesday, December 4 at 12:15 p.m., have been cancelled.

The cancellation of the final two days of the meet was necessitated by the mixture of severe early winter weather in the region that is forecasted to continue. Several inches of snow followed by a steady rain have hampered efforts to maintain the racing surface the past 36 hours. With additional snowfall and freezing conditions forecasted over the next two days, Finger Lakes officials saw no potential opportunity to make progress on improving conditions in the short term.

Finger Lakes will remain open all winter for simulcast wagering from 11:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., Sunday through Thursday and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Admission is free for simulcast wagering, which features on track payoffs. The gaming floor, which features nearly 1,200 video gaming machines, is open 10 a.m. to 2 a.m., daily.

The 2008 live racing season at Finger Lakes will open in mid-April, on a date to be announced.
