Earl Voelkl is the Unofficial Winner of the March 29, 2008 Simulcast Handicapping Challenge

3.29.2008 - Wins $1,000 Cash!

Congratulations to Earl Voelkl for winning the March 29th Finger Lakes $2,500 Simulcast Handicapping Challenge.  Earl jumped out to an early lead by winning his first race and never looked back as he continued to score in each and every race throughout the competition.  With a final score of 36 points, Earl Voelkl won sole possession of first place and the $1,000 top prize!  Terrance Bushart came in a close second place with 34 points, and will take home $600 for the effort.  A two-way tie for third place (33 Points) was settled by mutuel win totals:  Patrick Hennessy edged out Dick Pomponio by just 40 cents ($26.60 to $26.20) the capture third place and the $400 prize.  The top 25 contestants from each of the February and March challenges qualify for the finals competition on April 12th.  Winner of the finals earns a berth in the 2009 Horseplayer World Series in Las Vegas along with a $1,000 cash prize!  Good luck to all of our qualifying contestants!  We'll see you at the finals!
