FARMINGTON, N.Y. – The 25th renewal of the $50,000 Ontario County Stakes is scheduled to be run on Sunday at Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack. A field of nine participants are set to compete in the six furlong dash for 3-year-old New York-breds.

Pocatello is listed as the morning line favorite for Sunday’s feature. The bay gelding owned by Maggi Moss has won three of his last four starts under the guidance of three different jockeys. The Bruce Levine-trainee finished off-the-board in his only stake appearance on April 13 at Aqueduct going seven furlongs. He faded to fourth after pressing the pace in the $100,000 New York Stallion Times Square. Leading jockey John Davila, Jr. will be aboard the 8-5 program choice on Sunday.

Be Bullish owns the largest bankroll in the field. The $123,537 earner is the only stakes winner entered for the event. He won the $65,000 Appealing Guy stakes at Aqueduct on February 7 for owners Herbert and Carol Schwartz. The Scott Schwartz-trainee finished sixth in the Mike Lee in his most recent start at Belmont Park on June 22. The 2-1 second choice in the morning line will break from post eight and will be ridden by jockey Dennis Carr.

The $50,000 Ontario County Stakes is scheduled as the eighth of Sunday’s nine race card. First race post time will be at 1:10 p.m. Gaming doors open at 10:00 a.m. and racing gates open at 11:30 a.m.
