A look back and ahead…

Kiss the Cruiser won for the third consecutive time on Saturday for trainer Jonathan Buckley. Despite losing ground angling off the rail in the early part of the sixth race, the 4-year-old gelding rallied to earn the victory by a neck under jockey Gabriel Suarez. The $115,884 earner completed the six furlong distance in a time of 1:11.35. Buckley and Suarez also teamed up to win the $50,000 Ontario County Stakes on Sunday with Mr. Windjammer. It was the first stakes victory in the six year career for Suarez. Of the 32 horses he guided to victory this season, 21 were saddled by Buckley.

Longshot of the Week: Noted New Yorker ran down Watson I Need You and Go Shorty to win Friday’s fourth race by a neck under jockey Rafael Rohena, Jr. The Felix Monserrate-trainee went by the two dueling rivals in late stretch to score an upset at odds of 40-1. After Double Love won the next race at odds of 26-1, the fourth and fifth race daily double returned $2,005.00 for a two dollar wager.
