Walt Mikulski Wins The June 20, 2009 Finger Lakes $1,000 Hit the Board Eliminator Challenge!
Congratulations to Walt Mikulski, the winner of the June 20, 2009 Finger Lakes $1,000 Hit the Board Eliminator Challenge. This afternoon's contest was extremely competitive as 12 contestants hit the board in all nine contest races! Ironically, when back-up selections came into play after two late scratches occurred in the final race, all 12 survivors found themselves selecting the very same horse (#1 Tough But Fair) assuring that a tie-breaker would be needed to determine the winner. In the end, Tough But Fair won the race easily and the tiebreaker revealed that Walt Mikulski edged out Rick Angelo with seven winners and two places over Angelo's seven winners, one place, and one show. 341 contestants competed in the contest.
Our next $1,000 Hit the Board Eliminator Challenge will take place on Saturday, June 27th. Gates open at 11:30 am. Entry forms will be available at The Player Extras Station in the Upper Grandstand on the day of the contest. Good luck to all our contestants!
