Jockey Jennifer Bartlett will be aboard her first official career mount on Friday. She is the daughter of trainer William Bartlett and has been around horses her entire life. Since the age of eight, she has been competing in the Genesee Valley Hunt Races in Geneseo, NY. Bartlett has been galloping and ponying horses for over five years and has participated in horse shows since the age of three. The 21-year-old Farmington native will waive the apprentice allowance for her future mounts. She will begin her Finger Lakes riding career aboard My Rooster in Friday’s ninth race for trainer Marialice Coffey.

Longshot of the Week: Thunderin Otis had been defeated by an average of 16 lengths in his seven career starts before running on Tuesday. The Donna Bireta-trainee upset the fifth race field at odds of 29-1 under jockey Emanuel De Diego. The result of the event caused a rare occurrence of an uncovered trifecta wager. The top two finishers with any third number returned $730.00 for a $2.00 bet.

Jockey/Trainer News: Trainers David Margraf and Beth Miller-Saul were announced as the "Barn Award Winners" for the month of July. They were each presented a placque and a cash award on Tuesday for the acheivement.
