A look back and ahead…
Bob’s Big Hope became the first 6-time winner of the 2009 meet on Monday. The 6-year-old gelding won the fourth race under jockey John Grabowski for trainer James Acquilano. He is a clear leader in the win category over eleven horses who are tied for second with four victories on the season.
Too Tough Pete continues to be a profitable claim for owner John Salvato and trainer Michael S. Ferraro. The 4-year-old gelding defeated a classy field by two lengths in Monday’s sixth race which included the only 2009 multiple Finger Lakes stakes winner Mr. Windjammer. He has earned a total of $45,400 in four starts for his new barn since being claimed for $15,000 on June 5.
