FARMINGTON, N.Y. – Ibboyee will return to Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack on Saturday for the 47th renewal of the $314,263 New York Breeders’ Futurity. The Todd Pletcher-trainee won the $150,900 Aspirant Stakes in his last visit to the Western New York track on September 7.

Ibboyee is listed as the 4-5 morning line favorite for Saturday’s feature for New York-bred 2-year-olds. The undefeated colt owned by Anstu Stables
scored an easy six and one-quarter length victory in the Aspirant Stakes on Labor Day. He completed the six furlong sprint in a time of 1:11.18 under the mild urging of jockey Cornelio Velasquez. Velasquez also won the $150,062 Lady Finger Stakes aboard Franny Freud the same day. The veteran jockey will make the trip to ride the $119,580 earner in the six furlong dash as well as Cassanova Killer in the $50,000 Proud Puppy.

The $314,263 estimated purse for the New York Breeders’ Futurity is the second largest of any race ever run at Finger Lakes. The 2008 running of the stake had a record purse of $318,525.

Proud Puppy Handicap

Trainer Michael S. Ferraro will again have multiple entrants in a stake for fillies and mares. The
18-time leading trainer will saddle three of the eight competitors in the 11th running of the $50,000 Proud Puppy Handicap.

Ferraro completed a sweep of the $50,000 Susan B. Anthony Handicap on June 14 when Bob’s Dylan scored a three length victory over stablemates Afleet Alexandra and Sweet Lorena. All three horses are entered in Saturday’s six furlong handicap for fillies and mares.

Bob’s Dylan will run as a coupled entry with Afleet Alexandra for owner Blue Star Stable. The 4-year-old filly will break from post five and will be ridden by jockey John Davila Jr.

A total of $30,000 will be awarded to six area not-for-profit organizations on Saturday in the second annual Charity Cup. Each local group will select a horse in six Finger Lakes live races and earn points based on how their horses finish. First race post time is set at 1:10 p.m. Gaming doors open at 10:00 a.m. and racing gates open at 11:30 a.m.
