Early Response won Monday’s sixth race to make amends for a loss by 12 and one-half length over a sloppy surface in his previous start on September 28. The Chris Englehart-trainee made his fourth visit to the Finger Lakes Winner’s Circle after making his sixth start at the Western New York track. The 3-year-old-gelding was guided to the one and one-quarter length victory by jockey John Davila, Jr. Davila continues to be in a close battle for the 2009 jockey title with John Grabowski. He notched a triple on Tuesday to retake the top spot in the jockey standings and currently leads Grabowski by two wins after 136 racing days.

Longshot(s) of the Week: The fifth race superfecta on Monday returned $4,885.50 for a ten cent wager when all top four finishers had odds off 23-1 or higher. Coach Moto scored a three and three-quarter length victory under jockey Pedro Rodriguez. The 24-1 outsider did not have a sharp break but rallied to secure the upset win for trainer James Acquilano.

Jockey / Trainer News: Trainer M. Anthony Ferraro trails Chris Englehart by 44 wins in the Finger Lakes trainer standings, but he has the advantage over the top conditioner in the place category. Horses that were saddled by Ferraro finished in the second position 75 times this season. He leads Englehart by seven in that particular category.
