EL ROCCO FAVORED TO WIN JUVENILE

FARMINGTON, N.Y. –El Rocco is listed as the morning line favorite for the $50,000 Finger Lakes Juvenile which will be run at Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack on Saturday. The Bruce Levine-trainee will battle seven other rivals in the tenth renewal of the six furlong sprint for 2-year-olds.
El Rocco finished second in the $65,000 Tyro stakes at Monmouth Park on July 26 before stepping up to face graded stakes company in the $150,000 Sapling Stakes on September 5. He finished third in the Grade 3 event at the New Jersey track that was completed in a six furlong time of 1:09.55. The Pennsylvania-bred colt attempted a longer distance in the $75,000 Dover Stakes at Delaware Park in his most recent start on October 10. He finished fourth in the one mile and one-sixteenth route after pressing the early pace. Jockey John Davila, Jr. will be aboard the 9-5 program choice for owner Two Tone Farms.
Zipatron will be vying for his third consecutive win for owner S J Bee Stable. The M.Anthony-trainee will run at a fifth different track while traveling the longest distance of his career. The chestnut colt scored a seven length victory over a sloppy surface at Penn National in his most recent start on October 17. He finished the five and one-furlong event in a time of 1:04.79. Jockey John Grabowski will be in the irons of the 5-2 second choice who will break from the rail.
The tenth renewal of the $50,000 Finger Lakes Juvenile will be the final stake of the 2009 live season which is scheduled to conclude on December 5. First race post time for Saturday is set at 1:10 p.m. Gaming doors open at 10:00 a.m. and racing gates open at 11:30 a.m.
