Guts Game won the eighth race on Monday despite making her first start since December 4. The 6-year-old mare completed the five and one-half furlong distance in a time of 1:05.86. Pedro Rodriguez guided the Charlton Baker-trainee to the three length victory. Baker aquired the $142,247 earner after a private purchase was made in the fall.
Jack Knowlton, Sackatoga Stable's Operating Manager, will host an information session at Finger Lakes on Saturday, May 22, for those interested in learning how they can own thoroughbred race horses. Funny Cide is the most notable horse owned by Sackatoga Stable. The popular New York-bred gelding won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes in 2003
Longshot of the Week: For the third consecutive time, jockey Pedro Gonzalez was aboard the largest price winner of the racing week. He guided 22-1 outsider Pop Pop’s Carr to victory for trainer Linda Dixon in Monday’s first race. The horses ridden by Gonzalez this season have had a positive return of investment of $149 based on $2.00 win wagers.

Jockey/Trainer News: Adrianne Rohena notched the first victory of her training career on Saturday when Bust My Chops won the fifth race by three-quarters of a length. Trainer Michael S. Ferraro continues to win at a high percentage. Ferraro has visited the winners circle with six of the ten horses he has saddled.
