A look back and ahead…

Fillies from the stable of Michael LeCesse dominated the first 2-year-old race of the 2010 meet. Freuds On Holidays defeated stablemate Re Examine by two and three-quarter lengths in Tuesday’s first race. She completed the four and one-half furlong distance in a time of :53.93 under jockey Joel Sone.

Jockey Elaine Castillo earned her 500th career win on Monday. She guided Obama’s Princess to a three-quarters of a length victory in the fifth race. With another victory on Tuesday, the 28-year-old from Mexico City, Mexico is currently two away from 500 Finger Lakes victories. She will be the first female jockey in Finger Lakes history to ever reach that particular milestone.

Jockey News: Jennifer Bartlett was awarded her first career victory after a stewards ruling disqualified Numerous One from first place in the opening race on June 1. Bartlett was second aboard Born to Dazzle but was granted the win due to the decision which adjusted the original order of finish. Born to Dazzle is from the stable of Jennifer’s father, William Bartlett.
