A look back and ahead…

Lisa’s Booby Trap was entered to run in the $250,000 TVG Coaching Club American Oaks at Saratoga on Saturday. The 3-year-old filly was scratched out of the Grade 1 race by her trainer Timothy Snyder due to the wet track condition. She is expected to enter another stake at Saratoga in the near future.

Trainer News: Lisa Finster notched her first career training victory on Monday. Finster saddled Six Plus Six who won the third race by three quarters of a length. Phyllis Shetron made her first visit to the winner’s circle this season after Queen Maureen scored a one length triumph in Monday’s second race. Shetron is a founding member of the Finger Lakes Thoroughbred adoption program. She is currently a board member of the non-profit organization that helps ex-race horses find new homes and careers.

Longshot of the Week: Cathy All the Way pulled off a stunning upset in Monday’s sixth race under jockey Joel Sone. The Luis Gutierrez-trainee won the event after being defeated by an average of 22 lengths in her three previous starts. The 31-1 longshot defeated Try Love by a nose after that rival defeated her by 32 and one-quarter lengths in their last meeting on July 9.
