Vital Argument attempted to bite Turnpike Token during the final stages of the $50,000 Ontario County Stakes on Saturday. The 3-year-old gelding lost to his rival by a nose after the eventful stretch battle. The Michael LeCesse-trainee also finished second in his previous Finger Lakes stake appearance on October 31, 2009. He showed no signs of the aggressive behavior when he hit the board in the $50,000 Finger Lakes Juvenile.

Lisa’s Booby Trap is entered to run in the $70,000 Loudonville Stakes at Saratoga on Friday. Hall-of Fame jockey Kent Desormeaux will be in the irons of the Timothy Snyder-trainee in the six furlong sprint for 3-year-old fillies. Lisa’s Booby Trap scratched out of the $250,000 TVG Coaching Club American Oaks on Saturday. The Florida-bred has been stabled at Saratoga since not participating in the Grade 1 event.

Longshot of the Week: Itscooltobesmall rallied to score a big upset in Saturday’s second race at odds of 80-1. The Thomas Muller-trainee was guided to the narrow victory by jockey Janice Blake-Baeza. The 4-year-old filly hit the board for the first time since her last victory on October 9, 2009. She visited the winners circle that day with post time odds of 39-1.
